The Jefferson 42 Sundeck is an extremely popular motor yacht for a variety of reasons. Vessel features include traditional styling, with high quality, solid teak woodwork and joinery, comfortable two stateroom, two full head layout (tub/shower in master), full galley-down with convertible dinette, expansive salon and a full lower helm w/ side door for deck access. Outside, owners and guests will enjoy the spacious aft deck (under a hard top) with removable enclosure for year-round use. From the sundeck, solid wing doors access wide side decks, allowing safe egress to the large foredeck for line & anchor management, sunning or simply taking in the view. Up top, the bridge is large and very well laid out, with centerline helm and port & starboard side seating that will accommodate a robust crowd. When underway, the captain will appreciate the efficient and dependable Cummins diesels, and crew & guests can enjoy the climate controlled comfort of marine ac/heat powered by a Westerbeke generator. With its 14 ft beam and wonderful use of space, the 42SD has earned acclaim from Loopers and Live-aboards, as well as those who enjoy entertaining in luxury and comfort. Don’t miss this beautiful motor yacht that’s ready & waiting to fulfill your boating adventures.
Designed by the noted Naval Architect, Robert B. Harris, the Jefferson 42 Sundeck is recognized as a contemporary classic, with traditional lines combined with quality materials and luxurious appointments. From anchor light to keel you can expect the optimum combination of strength, efficiency, performance, and comfort. It was a Jefferson Yacht hallmark that no two yachts are ever detailed exactly alike, but all were carefully crafted and finished by hand appointments with matched teak throughout, a tribute to the legacy of old-world skills employed in construction.
HULL and DECKS:
Design features include wrap-around stainless steel framed windscreen, stainless grab rails, large storage lockers, and teak-treaded stainless steel bridge ladder. Below, the one-inch stainless steel deck handrails are supported by stainless stanchions fastened with back plates to the hand-laid fiberglass deck. Additional features include large cleats, chocks, bollard & bow pulpit with roller, swim platform, boarding ladder, and shock absorbing upper guard moldings on the hull. Conveniences include Maxwell windlass and a deck washdown at the bow.
The flying bridge features a convenient centerline helm station with electronics, navigational aids and a comfortable captain’s chair. The spacious bridge deck is well laid-out with L-shaped seating to starboard and a port side settee. Total seating accommodates 8+ crew/family/guests and provides generous stowage below the seat cushions. The Bimini top and removeable full enclosure provide comfort & protection from the sun and inclement weather. The views from the bridge deck are virtually unobstructed and very relaxing to the captain.
Forward from the aft deck, through the double door and down 4 steps, you enter the salon. Here, thanks to the 14’ beam and intelligent layout, you will begin to get a sense of how spacious this 42 actually is. The salon is well-appointed with beautiful teak parquet flooring. All cabinetry is hand-finished teak. Large opening side windows provide a panoramic view and allow outside ventilation when desired. The salon features a double settee with ottoman to starboard and a matching swivel easy chair with a swing-away writing table and ottoman to port. Aft, to port, there is a built-in hidden bar/beverage rack. Forward to port is a teak cabinet/counter storage area with four opening glass cabinet doors. The lower helm is forward, to starboard, and features full instrumentation, a well laid out electrical panel that is visible through a smoked glass door and a beautiful stainless & teak destroyer wheel. The convenient starboard side door is accessed at the lower helm.
Forward and down three steps from the salon, the starboard side galley features a double stainless steel sink with designer faucet. Beautiful teak cabinets & drawers provide an abundance of pantry and storage space. Appliances include:
- Whirlpool ROPER Full Size Refrigerator
- Galley Maid Empress Three Burner Cooktop & Oven
- Emerson Microwave
- Oster Toaster Oven
Directly across, to port, from the galley, the bench style dinette also converts to an additional guest sleeper. The beautiful teak cabinetry and parquet soul provide a warm and inviting ambience.
GUEST / DAY HEAD:
The port side guest head is located just forward of the dinette. Features include dual entry (from the forward companionway and private entry from the forward guest stateroom), a Jabsco electric toilet, marble washbasin, generous storage cabinets and a separate standalone shower with vented smoked glass door.
GUEST STATEROOM (FORWARD):
The guest stateroom is just forward of the guest/day head, through the bulkhead with privacy door. This stateroom features an over & under berth for two on the starboard side with drawers below. Just aft of the berths is a generous hanging locker. To port, is a bureau w/cabinet just forward of the private entry to the guest head. There are two port light windows and overhead hatch for natural light and ventilation. On the forward bulkhead is access to the anchor locker and the windlass remote switch & circuit breaker.
MASTER STATEROOM (AFT):
The full beam master (aft) stateroom is down four portside steps aft of the salon. The stateroom features a queen-sized centerline berth flanked by teak night tables and comfortable transom corner settees. Storage space has been planned for extended cruising with large teak hanging lockers and bureaus with full-sized drawers. The combination washer/dryer is conveniently located in a forward cabinet between the entry steps and the entrance to the master head.
MASTER HEAD (ENSUITE):
The ensuite head is located forward, to starboard, and features a Jabsco electric toilet, marble washbasin, generous storage cabinets and a separate shower with tub.
The engine room quick check access is located amidships on the bulkhead under the stairs to the galley. If full access is needed, practically the entire salon floor is removable. This is exceptional considering full access can be gained in just minute for complete engine and machinery access.
