Attractive 1896 Dutch sailing barge Vol Vertrouwen ('with confidence'). Many original features, including Delft-tiled galley area and stove surround, beautiful (inside and out) teak saddleback roof (with sky-lights) and teak interior. Good (standing) headroom in saloon/galley and main cabin. Beautiful intricate carving and painting of tiller, name-boards and other fittings - particularly the cockpit surround.
Built in 1896. Traditional Dutch Sailing Tjalk with flat bottom, Dutch rivet steel construction of around 5mm plate, aft cockpit with tiller steering, wooden leeboards, steel decks, wooden coachroof top, teak laid.

Boarding steps on transom, cockpit cushions, anchor with chain and warp, manual anchor windlass, mooring warps and fenders.
Gas detector, smoke detector, 2 bilge pumps (manual and auto).

FORWARD CABIN/ STORAGE AREA - with 2 x single bunks located port and starboard (listed as crew quarters) accessible to this area can be gained through a top deck hatch or crawl through section in the main cabin. Currently this area is used for mainly storage such as the anchor and boat cleaning gear etc. this could be changed into a cabin with 2 further bunks.
MAIN CABIN – to port is double berth with storage underneath; opposite is a single bunk but this area can be rearranged to create larger storage space. Two portholes provide a good amount of light to the main cabin.
SALOON – Jotul solid fuel burning stove and an array of handcrafted storage lockers.
Galley – consists of a 3-burner gas hob, oven, and grill, stainless steel sink and storage cupboards.
Heads – opposite the galley with sea toilet to holding tank. No shower.
Steps leading up from the Saloon to AFT COCKPIT/helm position
"Vol Vertrouwen" recently cruised from London to her current location in Essex. We have a copy of a survey undertaken in 2018, we understand that all main recommendations were carried out by the previous owners. There is a Boat Safety Certificate valid until April 2022.
Set of sails (new in the 80's, unused), rigging and many spares (filters, pumps, impellers, bulbs) + templates (for block-and-tackle, signage).
Note: leeboards in need of attention; two minor spots of dry rot inside (easily rectified), mast sound, needs a varnish.
