    For sale by owner. Location, Malaysia   "Fat Otter" Beneteau 51 First 1987 "An elegant plus size lady" Beautifully presented monohull at the peak of Beneteau's yacht production. Luxury sailing at an affordable price.    Offers near US $95,000 (395k RM or Au$ 145K)   Purchased by current owners June 2024.   Currently docked in Pangkor Marina, Malaysia.   Due to an injury we have had to change our plans and put Otter up for sale. After months of clean up, maintenance and upgrades we still haven't had a chance to take her out sailing.   Clean up :- entire boat emptied post purchase from previous owner. All old, unused or unessential gear removed.   Maintenance. Teak deck fully cleaned and oiled. Main cabin fully stripped, mechanically cleaned and relined.   50% of fresh water plumbing removed or replaced.   Entire upholstery, mattresses and cushions replaced, with new professional coverings.   New tap fitting in gallery and shower   Revamp bilge pump area and fittings.   All four engine mounts replaced.   Head refitted to new timber base.   New sunbrella cover for bimini, new in bag, not fitted.   New water filter and carbon housing.   Most interior lighting upgraded to LED.   Galley pantry stripped, rebuilt and new lining.   Engine fully serviced.       Hall Out Maintenance :-   Below waterline sanded back to gelcoat.   Nine thru hulls removed and epoxy filled in with minimum 9 layers of fiberglass.   Five thru hulls replaced and new seacocks.   Osmosis inspection and removal, hull left for 2 months to dry out.   2PK PPG primer / filler / sealer entire below waterline.   Copper coat to 10cm above waterline.   New composite material cuttless bearing   Two blade, feathering propellor serviced and antifoulled, two new anodised on shaft. Prop shaft inspectioned and in good condition, no bends.   Upgrades:-   Five x 470 watt double sided Jinko solar panels and Victron management system.   Large custom built aluminium frame to support solar panels.   Two x 3000 watt 24v Victron inverters   Two x 300 Ah 24v liFePo4 batteries.   Full sized 240v inverter upright fridge freezer.   Front loading 8kg inverter 240v washing machine   Gimbaled galley         240v twin induction hotplate 2500 watts         240v 23 lt induction microwave       Equipment at time of Purchase.   Large anchor windless.   Heavy duty anchor and backup anchor.   100m of new galv heavy link chain.   Roller furler 120° jib   Large mainsail.   Spinnaker.   Spinnaker pole.   Box air conditioning.   Autopilot.   B & G "V9" plotter.   Forward scanner; sounder / paddle wheel speed.   Four separate water tanks.   Water Maker   Three x Onboard air conditioning.   Large Lead acid 12v batteries + 200 Ah LiFePo4 12v battery.   Large under engine sump pump     Engine.    Perkins 4236 87 HP diesel.   18 hp Tohatsu outboard.   3 hp Yamaha outboard.       Lots more stuff and info.
