Beneteau Oceanis 45

Balbridie V has been sailed solely by the owner and his wife and never chartered. She is their fifth boat . They sail for 5 or 6 weeks each spring and the same in the autumn. She has been on the hard every summer and winter with a cockpit cover in place. The owner does minor running repairs as they occur but the yards deal with most items.

The highest specification available was chosen when the owners purchased new in 2016. Highlights include air-conditioning, hidden lighting in the saloon, leather trim, wine lockers , and highest spec B&G instrumentation.

The electric folding bathing platform converts at the touch of a button into the stern thwart .

There are 2 Solbianflex SP 104 Italian solar panels on the coach roof so as not to be visible from the cock-pit.

Sails were new in 2023. Made by Italian sail maker Eko Sails from Dacron woven in Holland. Inspected and stored by a sailmaker every winter.

The boat is 4.5 metres beam and the cockpit about 4 metres. So the cockpit is spacious . The table looks varnished but is simply Danish Oiled. Just a wipe every couple of weeks, takes 5 minutes.

All lines are led back of course and kept in tidy bags which were renewed in 2024. The Genoa track is controlled from the cockpit so there is no need to exit the cockpit at all when at sea.

The port halyard windlass is electric, good for hoisting sails at the start of the season or hosting a rigger up the mast.

There are four huge cockpit lockers.

The leather wheel covers were new 2023.

When unfolded, the bathing platform can be used for swimming, blowing up a paddle board, boarding the dingy etc. The life raft stowage can be seen, and next to that is the gas locker which stores 2 bottles.

The highest spec navigation system offered by Beneteau was purchased. A large central screen and one on each wheel housing triplicate all systems from nav to wind to depth to autopilot control etc. There is a separate autopilot control and a small screen for wind, depth etc information which can be scrolled through. All very easy to use. The main screen can be left on chart plotter mode and other functions accessed through the smaller screens.

The saloon boasts a beautiful dining table, two comfortable ‘armchairs’ and chart table. Fabrics are as new.

The table and seats convert to a double berth. In a locker is a Fusion 210 sound system replaced in 2023. It powers speakers in the saloon and the cockpit.

The galley has an upright fridge with small freezer and also a top loading large freezer. The Eno oven with two hobs works well. Surfaces are unmarked simulated granite.

There are two identical stern cabins except that the starboard cabin has its own access to the stern heads. The photos are of the port cabin.

Under the bunks are 6 115amp gel batteries new in spring 2024. One is the starter which can be linked or not to the 5 domestic to expand domestic power or to receive charge from solar panels.

There is a  huge master cabin in the forepeak.
