Harken Roller Furling – Beefy system
Annapolis Spars Mast – Currently the mast is unstepped for an inspection and to replace anchor and steaming light bulbs with LEDs
Garhauer Vang and Fairleads – High quality, and well suited to the vessel
Custom Jib T-Track – Professionally-installed, enabling a working jib to be trimmed optimally for going to windward in the 17 knot southwesterlies of the Block Island Sound
Lewmar Winches – Every line is controllable from the cockpit, and the winches are self-tailing and oversized.
Mechanical
Diesel: Universal 5432 diesel starts reliably, runs clean, and has never required any major repairs.
Maintenance: Owner meticulously changed oil and fuel filters.
Fuel Filtration: In addition to the Racor 500-series glass bulb 10 micron fuel filter / water separator that came with the vessel, owner installed a separate 230RMAM Racor fuel filter / water separator with a R20TUL 10 micron Acquabloc filter element.
Cooling: Owner bought a new Oberdorfer raw water pump as a regularly-scheduled upgrade, which will be installed before launch in 2025. Boat runs at proper temps currently, so this upgrade is merely a precaution.
Battery Power
Batteries: Four Optima AGM Deep Cycle, high capacity batteries
Charging: Victron solar charging system and two ProMariner 20 amp state-of-the-art shore power chargers.
Generator: Honda EU1000i inverter / generator – Owner only uses TruFuel methanol-free gas, so the generator runs super reliably
Electronics
Autppilot: Alpha Marine below-deck autopilot – Beloved and heavily used unit; highly reliable
Navigation: Raymarine Pathfinder Radar (on a backstay-mounted gimbal), GPS and Plotters – Color display at nav station, and monochrome at the helm
Communication: ICOM VHF and West Marine Handheld

Why is this Tartan 37 for sale?
Husband of the couple that owned the vessel passed away, and their children live in CO and CA, so it's not feasible for them to keep the vessel.
Why a Tartan 37?
The Sparkman & Stephens Tartan 37 remains the benchmark for a versatile coastal cruiser—fast enough to make the weather window to Bermuda, yet shoal enough to anchor behind Napatree Point or near shore in the Great Salt Pond.
Current Condition
Bottom sanded and painted with premium ablative anti-fouling
Max-Prop feathering two-blade propeller has been reconditioned and coated with Interlux Trilux 33
Zincs are newly installed.
The vessel's owners' son knows the boat’s maintenance history reasonably well, and is happy to provide details as requested.
Owners' Hope
The purchaser would ideally be a family looking for a great sailboat for New England waters. They would upgrade the electronics, recondition the cabin sole, and upgrade the 130% genoa. In return, they'll have a great boat, well-suited for family adventures!
