I have set this Stamas 290 Tarpon up specifically for long-range, multi-day offshore trips, and she is ready to fish immediately. The Stamas 290 is legendary for being "overbuilt." It is a heavy, solid fiberglass hull that rides like a much larger vessel. It handles chop incredibly well and provides a dry, stable platform, whether you are trolling the shelf or drifting for swordfish. Why this boat is different: Power & Reliability: Repowered with twin 2013 Suzuki 250hp (DF250AP) four-strokes. These are the digital "Fly-by-Wire" models, meaning the shifting is silent and the throttle response is instant. They have been maintained with an open checkbook (yearly service done Sept 2025) and offer incredible fuel economy. With a 460-mile range, you have the legs to chase pelagics wherever they go. Commercial-Grade Electronics: I recently overhauled the entire helm with a new Furuno package. This isn't basic gear; it features the 16" TZTouch3, the NXT Doppler Radar (which finds birds instantly), and the NavPilot 300 autopilot. It’s the kind of setup you usually see on 40-foot sportfishers. Ready for Deep Dropping: I’ve modified the gunwales with rod holders all the way around and installed dedicated power outlets for electric reels. Whether you are tilefishing or dropping for swords, the boat is wired and ready. Complete Package: The sale includes a custom, all-aluminum triple axle MYCO trailer- widely considered the best welded trailer on the market  -with new tires and bearings. I am also including my entire offshore tackle package: new reels, rods, and lures. You could literally pick this boat up and go fishing the same day. Condition: The boat has always been stored indoors (currently in Rockport, TX). The gel coat shines, and the upholstery is clean. There is one minor cosmetic blemish on the gunwale from a neighboring boat bumping it, but it has been surveyed, confirmed as non-structural, and does not affect the boat's performance in any way.
